A five month old foetus was found early on Saturday morning in the ground floor women’s toilet of the Government Hospital,Sector-6,Panchkula.
The foetus was discovered by the morning shift sweepers of the hospital at around 8 am and the hospital authorities and police were immediately informed. “The body was covered with blood and the placenta was also not cut off from the body,” said a hospital staff.
The post mortem report declares that it was a non-viable foetus of a boy. It explains that even if the delivery of the child was a legal normal or cesarean delivery,the child would still not have survived. According to doctors,this is because the foetus was between five to six months old and very premature. Doctors say that the hospital has no records of the case. All recent records of the gynecology department of the hospital has been checked but no identification could have been done.
A DDR was registered at the Sector-5 police station and investigations are on.
