May slap rape, criminal intimidation charges on former Dy CM
Anuradha Bali, alias Fiza, the second wife of former Haryana deputy chief minister Chander Mohan, alias Chand Mohammed,is planning to file a police complaint against him for abandoning her within months of their marriage.
Sources said the 37-year-old former assistant advocate general of Haryana remained busy with her lawyers on Tuesday, trying to draft a criminal complaint against Chand. On Monday,Fiza had launched an attack on the 43-year-old senior Congress leader for betraying her.
After Chand disappeared from her Sector 48-C house in Mohali on January 28,Fiza had alleged that Chand had been abducted by his brother Kuldeep Bishnoi. He was, however, traced in Delhi the same evening. He was reportedly in an inebriated state and claimed that he had left on his own and was safe.
The next day,Fiza was hospitalised after an overdose of anti-depressant tablets. Subsequently,an attempt to suicide case was slapped against her by the Mohali police.
Talking to Newsline on Tuesday,Fiza neither confirmed nor denied the possibility of a police complaint against Chand. All options are open. Only time will tell what comes next, she said.
Sources, however, said she was likely to level charges of rape and criminal intimidation against Chand in the police complaint.
Confirming the development,Mohali Superintendent of Police (City) Varinder Paul Singh said Fizas lawyer Rohit Mahajan had called him to seek an appointment for Wednesday. Lets see what they say when they come, he said.
The sources said apart from the text messages allegedly sent by Chand since 2006,Fiza had knowledge of several other sensational and controversial actions of the former Deputy CM. She still hopes that Chand returns to her,but if he doesnt, she will be left with no other option but to open the Pandoras box, said a source.
At a press meet on Monday,Fiza had, however, refuted as baseless the rumours of her possessing any objectionable recordings.
Mend your ways,Chand tells Fiza
In an interview given to a television news channel from an unknown destination,Chand Mohammed asked Fiza to mend her ways and claimed that the text messages she showed to the media had not been sent by him. He said Fiza would always instigate him against the Congress, his brother Kuldeep Bishnoi and father Bhajan Lal. He added that he did inform her and her mother about the fact that he was leaving. Chand also denied that he left Fizas house under any pressure and said she could never have any threat to life from Bhajan Lal as he is a very decent man. Chand said he still loved and respected Fiza.
