The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday sought a report from the Mohali Deputy Commissioner on the steps taken to clean a nullah at Lakhnaur village,Mohali.
The High Court has asked the DC to submit the report,or else appear personally to assist the court in this regard on Wednesday.
The directions were passed during the resumed hearing of a PIL filed by Sampuran Singh,a resident of the said village. The petition has been hanging fire for the past six years. Peeved at the inordinate delay and changing stands taken by the authorities,the High Court on Tuesday sought a final report.
The petitioner had alleged that pollutants were being dumped in the nullah by industries.
