Fatehgarh Sahib U-22 Cricket trials today

The Fatehgarh Sahib District Cricket Association will conduct trials to select the U-22 district cricket team at 10 am on June 2 at Mata Gujri College,Fatehgarh Sahib.

Chandigarh: The Fatehgarh Sahib District Cricket Association (Affiliated to Punjab Cricket Association) will conduct trials to select the U-22 district cricket team at 10 am on June 2 at Mata Gujri College,Fatehgarh Sahib. The selected players will represent the Fatehgarh Sahib dictrict in the Inter-District U-22 Cricket Tournament being organised by Punjab Cricket Association from the third week of June. Players born on or after September 1,1990 are eligible to take part in the trials and the the players are required to bring their Date of Birth certificates along with eligibilty/residence proof. The trials will be conducted by Punjab Ranji Trophy player Monish Aggarwal and the selected players will undergo a coaching camp before the final team is selected. Good response to Paragon Tennis Tourney

CHANDIGARH: The Paragon Tennis Tournament to be organised by Total Tennis Academy,Paragon School,Mohali has seen a good response from the city players. More than 200 players have already confirmed their entries for the tournament and players from Punjab,Haryana and Chandigarh have sent their entries.

Chandigarh Edu Dept organises trekking camps

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Education Department is organising a series of adventure-cum-trekking camp at Kalatop near Dalhousie,Himachal Pradesh. The first batch of students left for the venue on May 30 and the second batch will leave on June 4. The department will send 500 students in five batches and each batch will consist of 90 students and ten teachers. The first batch was flagged off by Chanchal Singh,deputy director,School Education-I,Chandigarh on May 30 from Chandigarh. The students will be doing rock climbing,rappling,fox flying,ladder climbing,trekking and camp fire during the camps.

Amit guides Deepak Builders into semi-finals

Chandigarh: A fine half-century by Amit Verma (57) guided Deepak Builders to a narrow one-wicket win over HMT Club and into the semi-finals of the First Hot Weather Cricket Tournament being played at DAV College,Sector 10. Batting first,HMT Club posted a total of 164 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs.

Rahul Singh played a fine knock of 89 runs while Yuvraj Anand contributed 28 runs. For Deepak Builders,Anil Azad claimed four wickets for 29 runs. Rickey Singh grabbed three wickets for 23 runs. In reply,Deepak builders reached the target for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Amit Verma played a knock of 57 runs while Yuvraj Singh contributed 35 runs.
