Ex-mayor accuses Admn of caste discrimination

Kamlesh,former Mayor and chairperson of the Social Welfare Board has moved a complaint to the SC/ST Commission saying there is no bus service to Ramdarbar that has 80 per cent SC population. The service was stopped after a fight between CTU bus drivers on November 27. She alleged the Administration discriminated on caste basis and therefore the service had not resumed.

Will increase lal dora: BJP

BJP’s Chandigarh unit promised on Sunday that if voted to power,the party would ensure increase in the lal dora of villages. The same promise was made by BJP president Rajnath Singh in Delhi.

Man held for harassment

A man was arrested for allegedly offending a woman by acting obscenely at Kalagram on Saturday. The accused,Vikas Kumar,of village Kharkhoda in Rohtak district,was booked under section 294 of the IPC. He was later bailed out.

‘City ill-equipped for the challenged’

Members of the Youth Innovative Society said on Sunday that in almost all 1,600 parks and green belts in the city’s residential areas,there are no provisions for the differently-abled. “It has emerged as a serious problem in the city and we met both MC and UT officials in this regard,who all turned a blind eye towards this problem,” rued the society chairman Sachin Sharma.
