Till the semi-finals,Jajbir Singh hardly looked the player who would pose a challenge for the title. Though he raked up a few impressive victories,he wasn’t deemed as one of the potential winners. That mantle was worn by players like Param Pun and Udayan Bhakar. However, with another display of superlative tennis,Jajbir put himself among the strong contender for the boys’ Under-18 titles following an easy victory over Param Pun in the semi-finals. On Friday,in the CLTA-AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament at CLTA Complex in Sector 10,before the doubles final,Jajbir had another battle to win: the singles title. His opponent in the final was Dalwinder Singh, his doubles partner, who had upset Udayan Bhakar in the semis. Jajbir was spot-on in the final match right from the beginning.
