Supporters of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal gave a tough time to the security personnel during the inauguration of the District Administrative Complex in Sector 79, Mohali, on Thursday.

The party workers and residents were waiting at the hall to greet the deputy chief minister before the start of the function.

The deputy chief minister, who was scheduled to arrive at the venue at 12 noon, was late by around one-and-a-half hour. When he reached the venue, he met the SAD councillors and then inaugurated the District Administrative Complex.

The SAD-BJP councillors, who were accompanying Sukhbir to the function, found it difficult to enter the hall as they were stopped by the security personnel.

When Sukhbir entered the main hall to address the gathering, his supporters surrounded him and made it difficult for the security guards to handle them.

Some officers and SAD-BJP councillors got stranded in the crowd and one of them fell on a security guard, who in turn fell on some media persons sitting near the entry point, creating a chaos.

The deputy CM took around 10 minutes to finish his speech and conclude the function. He told the workers that he had to attend some function and could not stay longer.
