Sarbat Khalsa and the hunger strike of Sikh actvist Surat Singh Khalsa were discussed during the SikhLens Arts and Film Festival at California,US.

Organised by the Sikhs settled abroad, the festival was held from November 20-22.

Speaking to The Indian Express over phone, Bicky Singh, the founder of SikhLens and organiser of the fest said, “We hosted a panel discussion on “State of Sikhi: A Conversation Pre and Post Sarbat Khalsa 2015”. Eminent academicians and intellectuals expressed their views on what is happening in Punjab. The decision to include this topic in our festival was taken because the Sikh community settled here is concerned by the present situation in Punjab. But we would like to clarify that SikhLens is nothing political, it was an academic talk on Sarbat Khalsa held in Punjab.”
