Designs on the Young

More than 100 INIFD (Inter National Institute of Fashion Design) student designers from across India are set to showcase their creations at “The Source” section during the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013,alongside the likes of Naeem Khan,Manish Malhotra,Vikram Phadnis,Rocky S and Namrata Joshipura. INIFD is the “official knowledge partner” of the event that will be held on March 22-26 in Mumbai. Ranging from chiffons to georgettes to cotton blends,traditionally silhouetted garments to western outfits,the designs will incorporate many techniques and accessories. Basic techniques include explicit traditional textile weaves and arts from the interiors of India,covering handpainting,patchwork,embroidery,draping,digital printing and layering.
