Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday took out a Tiranga Yatra during a mega roadshow in Haryana’s Jind, during which he promised free, uninterrupted power supply in the state, if his party was voted to power.

Kejriwal, who was accompanied by his Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann during the roadshow, started his address during the rally with the slogan of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.

He then, while targeting Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, said, “I saw a video in which a farmer is talking to Chief Minister Khattar about electricity for eight hours to 12 hours daily. To this Khattar sahab says that it will not be possible, it will not happen, it will not happen.”

He then added that that the day the AAP forms a government in Haryana, residents will get 24 hours of free electricity.

The Delhi CM said, “The Congress ruled Haryana for 25 years, the BJP ruled the state for nine years. Tell me any work which has been done by the BJP or the Congress. No facility of electricity, water, irrigation was given. If they haven’t even built a school or a hospital, then why are you still voting for them? Till now it was compulsion that you voted for BJP after getting angry with Congress and voted for Congress after getting angry with BJP. Now, a third option has come in front of the people, in the form of Aam Aadmi Party”

The AAP leader added, “Give me ‘ek mauka’ (one chance), I will do the work of giving good education to the children and will build good schools.”

Kejriwal then went on to say that Bhagwant Mann had given government jobs to 30,000 youths in Punjab, while claiming that “three lakh jobs were given to the youth in the private sector too in the state”.

He added: “Neither the Congress nor the BJP will provide good education or employment. Chief Minister Khattar has increased unemployment in Haryana. I will talk about your house. If someone falls ill, they get free treatment in the hospitals of Delhi. If the Aam Aadmi Party government comes to power (in Haryana), free treatment will be available in big hospitals.”

Without naming any outfit, Kejriwal said, “These parties did not leave any effort to loot the country.”

AAP leaders Ashok Tanwar, Anurag Dhanda and Chitra Sarwara were also present in the roadshow.

Corrupt people are afraid of Kejriwal’s name: Mann

In his turn, the Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann — while thanking all the workers and supporters who reached Jind to support the AAP’s rally — said that if Kejriwal’s name is mentioned to big corrupt people these days, they start trembling.

Mann said that it is a matter of happiness for the people of Haryana that Arvind Kejriwal is a man born from the soil of Haryana and has changed the politics of the whole country. He said: “Jind is not a new area for me. It was the capital of the princely state of Jind, Sangrur is nearby. We have relatives and friends in Jind. I felt like home after coming to Jind.”

The Punjab CM also said that Tiranga Yatra is very important to bring a change in Haryana and to eliminate corruption. “This Tiranga Yatra will bring a wave of change in Haryana. If electricity can be made free in Punjab, mohalla clinics can be set up and youth can get jobs then why not in Haryana. There are no electricity bills in 88 per cent of the houses in Punjab. If this is happening in Punjab then why can’t it happen in Haryana.”
