The Delhi branch of the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday questioned former UT Director Public Instruction (Schools) Samwartak Singh Khangwal and Jolly in Delhi. Hardev was grilled by the CBI on Wednesday.

The CBI had registered a case of cheating, criminal conspiracy and other offences under various provisions of the PC Act against two ‘touts’ and ‘a few public servants’ in the scam on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The scam had come to light in September 2009 with the arrest Hardev and Jolly. Jolly’s father retired from the office of DPI (Schools).

The matter pertains to allegations revolving around the appointment of 536 teachers by the UT Education Department.

It was alleged that middlemen,in collusion with a few senior officials of the UT Administration and Department of Education, were demanding illegal gratification for appointment of teachers.
