This was Deepender’s third visit to Sirsa district during the past two months. The district has been a stronghold of the family of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala for the past several years. However, in the 2019 assembly polls, the INLD of Chautala could win just one seat—Ellenabad.
On Sunday, Deepender also addressed a public meeting in Ellenabad’s Nathusari Chopta. “A storm is blowing in favour of the Congress in the entire state. The failure of Khattar government’s public dialogue and success of hath se hath jodo in Ellenabad is a symbol of change in Haryana. Flood water has entered many villages in Sirsa too due to overflow of the Ghaggar river,” he said.
