Daylight snatching near Lohgarh: Bike-borne miscreants snatch teacher’s gold chain, incident caught on CCTV

Complainant Anuradha, a resident of Sigma City-1, Lohgarh, said she works as a teacher in a private school. Around 2:30 pm, she was returning home on her scooter. As she approached Sigma City Chowk, two youths speeding on a motorcycle came close to her from behind and snatched the gold chain from her neck before fleeing. She said the chain weighed approximately one tola.

The victim attempted to chase the accused, but their high speed made it impossible. She immediately dialled 112 and later visited the police station to file a formal complaint. Police have begun examining CCTV footage from the crime spot and nearby areas to identify the suspects.
Officers said a manhunt has been launched based on the footage.

Expressing concern over the increasing incidents of theft and snatching in the area, residents said the police often limit action to merely registering cases, giving criminals confidence.

However, police said that the accused will be arrested soon.
