DAV College dramatics club to represent PU at national level

As many as 28 universities attended the fest where the DAV team represented Panjab University.

Winning the trophy at the Inter Varsity Youth Fest,the dramatics club of DAV College – Aaghaaz – has set a new benchmark for itself with their One Act Play being recorded as the 10th best all over India. At the recent North Zone Inter University Youth Festival held at Lucknow,the DAV College (Sector 10) team was declared winner for the One Act Play and awarded the third position for the self written skit. As many as 28 universities attended the fest where the DAV team represented Panjab University. The inter- varsity fest was organised by the Association of Indian Universities. The DAV team won many accolades like being adjudged the best at the zonal level for their One Act Play and Mime,while they stood second in the mimicry and skit category. The One Act play — “Maston Ka Tolla” — was based on the play ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’ by Piyush Mishra from Mumbai.

At the Inter Zonals held at A S college,Khanna,the team won the first prize for One Act Play as well as the individual best actor award. The team,comprising Arpan Vadhera,Sarthak Narula,Abhishek Gautam,Tarun Kapil,Ajay Sharma,Ishant Gandhi,Jungbaaz Dhillon,Rachna Gupta and Sylvester Stephen,will now participate in the All India National Youth Fest in February,to be held in Kurukshetra.
