Raghu Dixit Awarded
Raghu Dixit has done it again. After landing himself at the top of the iTunes charts and scoring a gig on the acclaimed television show Later… with Jools Holland, the musician has won the Best Newcomer Award at the Songlines Awards that recognise the best in world music. This shouldnt come as a surprise for those whove been following Dixits music. However, what is surprising is that this is Dixits first award ever. He tweeted on Thursday evening, after the announcement of the awards,After 13 years of being a musician, this is really my first ever award.
When its in a gallery, people pay money to see it. But when its out on the street,it could get you thrown in jail. Urban graffiti is being celebrated by Los Angeles art lovers in the hugely popular show titled Art in the Streets at the Museum of Contemporary Art. A block away, however, the same sort of scrawling has the LA police cracking down on what they call a public nuisance. According to the authorities, the ongoing exhibition, that is causing a lot of public debate,is responsible for a wave of graffiti and is defacing public property. Clearly, one mans art is another mans eyesore.

Estimated between 2,00,000-3,00,000 Euros, this was reportedly the second time Churchill had picked a paintbrush since the start of World War II.
Discovery through Dance
Dance, dance otherwise we are lost, these eternal words of the legendary dancer Pina Bausch, will be further immortalised by director Wim Wenders,in a film that has the international contemporary dance world holding its breath. Titled Pina,it is a feature-length dance film in 3D,with the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, featuring the unique and inspiring art of the late German choreographer.
