Woman robbed of cash,ID proof
CHANDIGARH: A resident of Sector 22-A alleged that on Sunday an unknown person on a motorcycle fled away after snatching her bag containing driving licence,two ATM cards,a voter ID and Rs 1,500s. Police said,the incident took place near Sector 17 market around 9 pm when the victim was walking on the road along with her friend. The unidentified motorist was wearing a helmet. A case of theft under Section 379 and 356 of the IPC has been registered with the Sector 17 police.
Case against man for hit-and-run offence
CHANDIGARH: A case has been registered against the driver of a car who allegedly fled away after hitting a six-year-old girl on Sunday at Sector 33/45 light point. Police said the victim Diksha,along with her mother and two sisters,were walking on the zebra crossing when the driver of a car with a Chandigarh registration number hit the victim around 7.30 pm. The girl was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32,and was later transferred to Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in Sector 12. PGIMER staff said,the victim is in a critical condition. A case of rash driving under Section 279 and 337 of the IPC has been registered against the driver of the car at Sector 34 police station.
One injured in roof collapse
CHANDIGARH: A resident of Colony No 4 in Phase 1,Industrial Area suffered head injuries on Monday after a part of the roof of her house fell. Police said,the roof made of mud fell on the victim Meena,35,around 7.30 pm. The victims husband and her two daughters were inside the house when the incident took place. However,Meena was the only one to be injured. She was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32.
