Buoyed by the success of its debut art show,Chandigarh-based online art gallery Ocher Art has come up with the second edition of Ocher Art Fair,which brings works in various genres from across the country on one platform. City-based artist Baani Sekhon,who has organised the exhibition,says,The idea is to go beyond everyday art exhibitions and make contemporary art more accessible. The event is a one-stop-shop where one can view artworks and meet all those involved in the area – be it artists,collectors or art lovers.
The art fair showcases a selection of works by over 30 internationally-acclaimed Indian contemporary artists,who vary in style and approach. Sekhon adds that the main purpose of the fair is to make art lovers and art enthusiasts aware of whats new in the art scene. Views of Benaras,couples in love,scenes from nature,children in happy abandonment and women walking in beauty the artists from Pune,Mumbai,Hyderabad,Kolkata,Indore and Bangalore have drawn inspirations from their life and the people around them to showcase a repertoire of emotions.
One of the main highlights of the fair is Gicleé Museum quality prints of classic paintings. Prints showcased here are masterpieces from the era of Impressionism to that of Abstract Expressionism,which are available for sale on Ocher Arts online gallery. For the uninitiated,Giclee is a new print technology process which uses pigment-based archival inks on acid-free archival paper for durability. It also allows people to own masterpieces without forking out a fortune.
