Security at the Ambala Cantonment railway station has been beefed up in the wake of threat calls being made to kill GRP SP Bharati Arora and blow up railway stations in Punjab. The army has also been put in alert mode in the cantonment area along with erected barricades to check persons entering the area.
Taking action on the complaint of SP Arora, the Ambala police claim to have traced the person who made the threatening call. According to information, the number has been traced to one Sarfraz, alias Siraj,a resident of Meerut.
The police have verified that Sirajs brother-in-law had purchased a SIM card in his name because he allegedly wanted to get Siraj involved in a terrorist case out of vengeance. The police team, dispatched to Meerut, has learnt that Siraj had given his mobile to his brother-in-law,who is said to have made the call.
The caller claimed to be a member of the Lashkar-e-Toiba and threatened the SP saying that if she didnt wind up the investigation in the Samjhauta Express bomb blast incident, she would have to face dire consequences.
