Convicted DSP’s son booked in arms case

The CBI has recovered one 12 bore double barrel rifle and four live cartridges from the premises of a man,Vijender Pal Singh,son of a dismissed DSP,who is a proclaimed offender in a case of human trafficking.

The CBI has recovered one 12 bore double barrel rifle and four live cartridges from the premises of a man,Vijender Pal Singh,son of a dismissed DSP,who is a proclaimed offender in a case of human trafficking. Gurjit Singh,the former DSP,has been convicted for life in a case of murder and is a parole jumper. Gurjit has been missing since 2007,when he was released on parole but never returned to jail and could not be found by the Punjab Police.

The case against his son Vijender is pending adjudication in the court. On a search operation carried out by the CBI,the gun and cartridges have been recovered from the premises of Sri Guru Angad Dev,Khadoor Sahib,Tarn Taran,Punjab. When confronted,Vijender failed to produce any documents regarding the possession of the weapon. A case under the Arms Act has been registered against Vijender Pal Singh at a police station in Tarn Taran,Punjab.

The CBI also observed that Vijender Pal Singh was instrumental in preparing obscene MMSes and was arrested by the CBI on July 27. He was produced before a court of the Special Magistrate,Patiala,who remanded him in five-day police custody.
