The Congress unit of the district today demanded an FIR and action against the Amritsar Municipal Corporation officers involved in the solid waste management project initiated two years ago.

Coming down heavily on the government for sitting on its own report exposing a scam worth crores of rupees by the Amritsar Municipal Corporation (AMC) in the project,a delegation of the Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) from Verka,led by Harpal Singh Bhatia,said,The government is sitting on its own inquiries conducted by the local body department,tracing irregularities into the project and no action has been initiated on the matter. The scandal is of the tune of Rs 40 crore,Singh said.
