Complaint boxes in Panchkula for timely service delivery

Panchkula Deputy Commissioner has directed various departments to put complaint boxes in their respective offices to ensure timely delivery of 15 identified essential services.

Panchkula Deputy Commissioner has directed various departments to put complaint boxes in their respective offices to ensure timely delivery of 15 identified essential services.

“These (complaint boxes) will help keep a check on officials who deliberately delay the delivery of essential services,” said Deputy Commissioner,Panchkula,Ashima Brar in an official statement.

Brar said that in case the people failed to get the delivery of these services in stipulated time as fixed by the State Government,they could put their complaints in boxes installed outside the office of the concerned officers.

“The officers will review the complaints on a weekly basis and take stern action against those officials who wilfully delay services. Every citizen has a right to claim delivery of services in a prompt,efficient and time-bound manner,” she added.

And to make these services available to people without any hassle,the concerned officers have been directed that a board should be installed in front of the office of the designated officer displaying the name,designation and room number of the official dealing with each essential service.

“Apart from this a comprehensive checklist of documents and other prerequisites should also be displayed in English,Hindi and Punjabi for making an application for the delivery of each service. Similarly,in the concerned offices,designated officials would ensure the receiving of self-checked applications and after verifying whether it is complete or not would issue a receipt to the applicant indicated therein that the application complete in all respect has been received and the services would be delivered by the target date,” she added.

The Haryana Government has implemented a policy for provision of 15 identified services to the citizens in a time bound manner in the first phase.

These services include issue of new ration card,issue of SC,ST and OBC certificates,issue of residential or domicile certificate,issue of learner driving license,issue of permanent driving license,registration of light vehicles,new electricity connections,temporary electricity connections,enhancement of electricity loads,etc.
