Collision: Man dies, patient survives

In a freak accident,a patient in serious condition being taken to PGIMER,Chandigarh,survived when his ambulance met with an accident near Kali Paltan Bridge,Ambala Cantonment,on Sunday night.

In a freak accident,a patient in serious condition being taken to PGIMER,Chandigarh,survived when his ambulance met with an accident near Kali Paltan Bridge,Ambala Cantonment,on Sunday night. But an occupant of the Maruti car into which the ambulance had rammed died on the spot and two others were injured.

As the ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle,it jumped over the divider and rammed into the Maruti car coming from the opposite side. The impact of the accident was so serious that an occupant of the car,identified as Muzamin,died on the spot.

However,the patient,Devinder Kaur,a resident of Kurukshetra,escaped unhurt and was sent by another vehicle toPGIMER. Muzamin and others were on their way to Saharanpur from Chandigarh after dropping a patient there.

In another road accident,Mehar Singh,65,a resident of Khudda Kalan village,was killed after a car hit him on the Ambala-Dehradun NH on Monday. The body was sent for post-mortem.
