On the lines of schools, city colleges too have decided to hold regular parent-teacher meetings. The move has been initiated with an aim to improve interaction between parents, students and teachers.

The colleges announced that it would be a regular feature and frequent parent-teacher meetings will be organised.

Talking to Newsline,Professor A C Vaid of SD College said: “Interaction is very important and we have decided to hold regular interactions with parents of students. This would also help parents know where their child stands academically and both teachers and parents can discuss any issue being faced by the child.”

Meanwhile, government colleges in the city have already been organising such meets since last year and have received a good response for the same. Besides the meet, colleges would also be arranging counselling sessions for parents. This session would not only help parents in knowing the problems being faced by their children but also get tips from experts on handling their growing adults.
