The Punjab government on Thursday issued fresh and strict directions to all departments,instructing them not to order extension or offer re-employment to any employee after his date of retirement.

However,extension will be given to Punjab Civil Services officers in view of administrative necessities,an official spokesman said.

4,000 teachers reverted

The state education department on Thursday reverted back more than 4,000 teachers working as District Project Coordinators,District Resource Persons,Math Master Trainers,English Master Trainers,Block Master Trainers Parho Punjab,Cluster Master Trainers Parho Punjab,District Maths Coordinators,English Project District Coordinators,Parho Punjab Coordinators,ICT Coordinators and EDUSAT Coordinators to their parent schools. Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka said the move aimed to ensure quality education in schools,the teachers working on other assignments were not fulfilling purpose of imparting education.

Pending decisions: CM seeks report

The state government on Thursday directed all departments for immediate implementation of the decisions taken by the cabinet,besides immediate issuance of notifications within two weeks. “The chief minister has also ordered that necessary action be taken against departments which have failed to implement cabinet decisions,” a spokesman said.

Finance dept warning on expenses

CHANDIGARH: The state government on Thursday issued fresh instructions to all departments to curb any practice of over-expenditure and check all financial irregularities in the statistics of accounts of 2011-12. An official spokesman said that it has been noticed that the district treasury offices didn’t furnish monthly accounts in time. “Moreover,most of treasury offices didn’t furnish the details/ vouchers of the expenditure,which enforce us to book expenditure under treasury/OB suspense account,” he added. He said new instructions were issued specially for the irregularities committed in the monthly accounts ranging from November 2011 to January 2012 and concerned offices have also been instructed to incorporate the desired adjustments till May 25,2012,so that the closure of accounts is not delayed.
