After the Election Commission of India announced dates for the general elections, the Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to postpone four class XII board examinations that were clashing with the poll dates.
“Class X exams will be over by the end of this month, but class XII exams were to end on April 17. After the election dates were announced, the dates were adjusted accordingly. We are yet to release a circular for all city schools. The CBSE website, meanwhile, has uploaded the revised datesheet,” said R J Khanderao, CBSE Regional Officer, Panchkula.
As per the revised date sheet on the CBSE website, the class XII board exams to be held on April 9, 10, 11 and 12 will now be conducted on April 25, 21, 19 and 22 respectively. The exam for music (carnatic vocal), music (hindustani vocal), music (hindustani instrument melodic) and music (hindustani instrument percussion), which were to be held on April 9, have been rescheduled for April 25.
Exams for sociology, graphic designs, multimedia and business processes outsourcing skills have been delayed from April 10 to April 21. The philosophy, cash management and housekeeping, communication and health nursing II, computer and life insurance administration exams will be held on April 19 instead of April 12. The exams for agriculture, creative writing and translation studies,painting, graphics, sculpture and applied art/commercial art have been rescheduled from April 17 to 22.
