CJM wife murder: Court adjourns hearing of grandparents’ plea for kids’ 3-day custody

Geetanjali,30,was found dead on July 27 in the high-security Police Lines area of Gurgaon.

A Panchkula court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking interim custody of the children of the deceased in the Geetanjali murder case to November 8,thus denying the petition,as the three-day custody was sought from November 5 to 7.

Om Parkash Aggarwal and his wife, the parents of Geetanjali, whose bullet-ridden body was found from her husband Chief Judicial Magistrate Ravneet Garg’s compound in July this year, had moved a petition on October 31 to seek a three-day custody of their grand-daughters from November 5 to 7. They wanted to celebrate the fifth birthday of the elder child.

“The opposition party assured us that the children were out of station and they would give us the custody once they were back. Meanwhile, they have been asked to file their reply to the petition by November 8,” said the prosecutor in the case,S K Sood.

The last time Aggarwal and his wife were allowed to meet their grand-daughters was on September 22 when the couple met the two minors for three hours in Panchkula at their counsellors’ residence in Panchkula.

Their mother Geetanjali,30,was found dead on July 27 in the high-security Police Lines area of Gurgaon. Her husband Ravneet Garg, and his parents were booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation for murder.
