Around 15-20 people gathered on Wednesday outside the office of Superintendent of Police (Detective) Balwinder Singh to protest against the police inaction in arresting the accused in the TDI land-fraud case. Taneja Developers and Infrastructure (TDI) is alleged to have cheated around 150 people while selling them commercial plots of land.

Case of purse snatching reported in Mani Majra

Chandigarh: A resident of Mani Majra on Monday alleged that an unidentified person on a scooter fled away after snatching her purse while she was traveling in a three wheeler. The purse contained Rs. 1,600 cash and documents,police said. A case of theft has been registered at Mani Majra police station.

Chandigarh: A resident of Burail village alleged that an unknown person stole two gas cylinders and Rs. 25,000 cash from his house on Sunday night. A case of theft in dwelling house and of trespassing house under the IPC has been registered at Sector 34 police station.

Man arrested with 135 gm smack

chandigarh: The Chandigarh police on Monday arrested a 37 year old resident of Maloya Colony for alleged possession of 135 grams of smack. A case under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against the accused at Sector 39 police station.
