Charges of corruption were framed against Chandigarh Police Sub-Inspector Sakkatar Singh,his wife Baljinder Kaur and son Baldeep Singh in a graft case dating back to 2010. The charges were framed in a CBI court.
The trio were arrested after a complaint against them was received. An FIR was registered against them at the Manimajra Police station. The three have been booked under Sections 7 and 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act,criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.
The trio had allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 15,000 from Ranjeet Singh who was booked in a case of rape and illegal confinement registered at the Manimajra Police station. The trial will begin from May 7.
