Change name of Chandigarh airport, appeals Sikh group

General Secretary of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Seva Society, H S Sabharwal, said they had written to various authorities, including the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, and the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, for the purpose.

THE SRI Guru Granth Sahib Seva Society on Tuesday appealed the Central Government and the governments of Punjab and Haryana to come together and support their proposal of renaming the Chandigarh International Airport as Guru Nanak Dev Ji International Airport on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

General Secretary of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Seva Society, H S Sabharwal, while addressing a press conference related to the demand, said that they had written to various authorities including the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amrinder Singh and the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar for the purpose. “If we can dedicate this to Guru Nanak Dev, there cannot be a bigger achievement than it during the ongoing celebrations,” he said.
