A TWO-KANAL residential plot in Sector 33 went for a whopping Rs 15.30 crore against the reserve price of Rs 7.53 crore in the e-auction of residential sites which concluded here on Thursday evening. The e-auction was organised by the UT estate office. This plot measured 1,014 square yards.
As many as 14 commercial sites, 11 residential sites and one industrial site had gone under the hammer but surprisingly no commercial or industrial site was sold. It was just that all of the 11 residential sites were sold.
The estate office earned Rs 44 crore bid prices against the reserve price of Rs 27 crore.
A plot in Sector 40-B measuring 528.125 square yards went for Rs 4.01 crore against the reserve price of Rs 3.71 crore. Similarly, another plot in Sector 35-C which had an area of 482.625 square yards went for Rs 4.52 crore against the reserve price of Rs 3.58 crore.
A seven-marla plot in Sector 37-D went for Rs 1.71 crore against the reserve price of Rs 1.25 crore and one in Sector 37-C against the reserve price of Rs 1.25 crore went for Rs 2.11 crore.
A 10-marla plot in Sector 38-D went for Rs 3.43 crore against the reserve price of Rs 1.78 crore.
Auction of commercial and industrial plots fails
Realtors had already conveyed to the UT Administration that the auction of commercial and industrial sites will be a flop show because all are leasehold properties and the rates were high.
