Chandigarh: Street play marks World Glaucoma Week

World Glaucoma Week 2016 started on March 6 and will continue till March 12.

Glaucoma support group of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research commemorated World Glaucoma Week by organising a street play to spread awareness among the public about glaucoma and related diseases.

On Wednesday, Theatre Arts, Chandigarh, staged a play at Sector 17 Plaza in association with the Glaucoma support group to put a check on the increasing number of glaucoma patients in the tricity. World Glaucoma Week 2016 started on March 6 and will continue till March 12.

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that results in damage to the optic nerve and hence vision loss. Although lost vision due to glaucoma cannot be restored, but once detected, it is possible to optimise remaining vision. World Glaucoma Week is observed every year to spread awareness.
