Local MP Kirron Kher flagged off four vehicles for the Disaster Management Centre donated by her under MPLADS at UT Guest House, Chandigarh on Monday.
The cost of these vehicles is around Rs 25 lakh.
These vehicles will help in granting quick relief to the people during untoward accidents or natural calamities.
On this occasion, UT Deputy Commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi thanked Kher for her kind gesture towards the people of Chandigarh.
Kher assured that being the MP of the city, she will provide every possible help to the constituents and they can approach her anytime for any kind of help. District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had no quick reaction team (QRT).
They had one van with no equipment to deal with emergency situations. All the vehicles were flagged off without any registration number.
