The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has decided to link all properties – both commercial and residential – with the Aadhaar numbers of allottees. The housing board has asked the UID authority to supply the database of Aadhaar numbers of the allottees of CHB properties. The Aadhaar numbers will be collected in all ongoing surveys of the board properties. CHB chairman Maninder Singh said the move is aimed at bringing transparency. “It will be a boon to the allottees as it will facilitate easier identification and help reduce unnecessary paper work,” he said.
All the allottees have been asked to submit their Aadhaar numbers to the housing board either via e-mail at email@example.com or through post or in person at reception counters of CHB offices.
The Chandigarh estate office has already started the process of linking properties with Aadhaar number of the owners.
