The Chandigarh Housing Board has decided to launch a physical survey to ascertain violations, encroachments and misuse of premises.
There are as many as 62,605 CHB residential dwelling units and 4,386 commercial units spread across 15 sectors in the city, including Sectors 38 (west), 29, 41 40, 44, 43, 45,47 and Modern Housing Complex.
Giving the details, CHB Chairman Maninder Singh said that a ground survey of all residential/commercial units constructed by the CHB will be conducted by considering need- based changes allowed till date. However, in case of residential/commercial units having any additional storeys/encroachments on government land, the internal violations for such units shall also be noted down.
The survey of all residential/commercial units is to be completed by October 31.
Till the completion of the said survey, all notices, to all allottees, under various sections, at all levels, shall be kept in abeyance.
No fresh notices shall be issued during this period and all hearings fixed during this period, that is, from August 22 upto October 31, shall accordingly be deferred to dates beyond October 31. However, appropriate action as per rules will be taken by Chandigarh Housing Board in respect of any fresh violation.
