Chandigarh: GMADA cancels two industrial plots in Mohali

The officials said that the plots were cancelled under the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development Act

THE GREATER Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has ordered cancellation of allotment of two industrial plots for violating the norms. GMADA shall start the process of taking the possession of these two plots.

According to the GMADA officials, the allotment of industrial plot number C-71 in Phase 6, Industrial Area was cancelled. As per the notices, copies of which are with Chandigarh Newsline, during the inspection of the plot it was found that a back gate was constructed at the plot and the owners were using their courtyard for commercial use in violation of the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development Act.

The notice issued by the GMADA’s Estate Officer (Housing), Mahesh Bansal, stated that the after the issuance of the notice to the owner of the plot, Satish Talwar, in July 2018, the owner did not comply with the orders, following which the notice was pasted outside the plot which asked the owners to personally appear before the EO but the owners did not do it. After that, the orders were issued for the cancellation.

Similarly, the allotment of plot number C-81, also in Phase 6, Industrial Area, was also cancelled as the owners of the plot were also found to be violating the norms.

EO Mahesh Bansal confirmed the development. The officials said that the plots were cancelled under Section 45(3) of the Punjab Regional and Town Planning and Development Act.
