The three Chandigarh Police personnel, who have been suspended for harbouring the accused linked to the Rs 5.26-crore ATM fraud case, have reportedly tried to mislead the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Police, a source close to the development said.

The ATM fraud of Rs 5.26 crore occurred in Baghpat, UP earlier this month in which two employees of CMS company, Gaurav Tomar and Rocky Malik, misappropriated cash during ATM refilling operations. An FIR was lodged at Baraut police station in UP on March 4. Fearing arrest and strict action from the UP Police, the two accused fled to Chandigarh, police officials earlier had said.
