CBM chief releases list of office-bearers

Newly-elected president of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal,Diwaker Sahoonja,released a list of 44 office-bearers on Friday.

Newly-elected president of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal,Diwaker Sahoonja,released a list of 44 office-bearers on Friday. Apart from nominating senior leaders as patrons and advisors,previous president Charanjiv Singh has been nominated as chairman.

Gursharan Batra,son of Inder Lal Batra,the founder of CBM,has been retained as the senior vice-president. Senior functionary of the Grain Market,Sat Pal Gupta,has been nominated as the chief patron.

MP Kohli,Purshotam Mahajan and Joginder Singh Sawhney have been nominated as patrons. B K Sood,Sanjeev Mahajan,Bhim Sein Garg,Ravi Kansal,Jagdish Kapoor,Jagdish Arora,Gian Chand Gupta and Rajesh Gupta have been named as advisors.

A number of secretaries and vice-presidents have also been named. Soon,the city markets will be divided into eight zones with delegated powers to chief coordinators to respond more effectively to the issues of respective zones.

The CBM will constitute separate committees for beautification and upgrade of Sector 26,Manimajra,Sector 17 and Sector 22. Sahoonja said subcommittees will be constituted to take up issues highlighted in the manifesto. An executive body will also be constituted that would have wider and comprehensive representation of trader members.
