Car hits roundabout,8 injured

Eight of a family including three children were injured after their car rammed into Batra roundabout in Sector 37 on Tuesday morning.

Eight of a family including three children were injured after their car rammed into Batra roundabout in Sector 37 on Tuesday morning. All the injured were rushed to Government Multi-Specilty Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16.

Two of the injured,eight-month-old Jiya and her father Sanjay Narang were later referred to PGIMER and are reported to be in critical condition.

Saurabh Joshi,councillor from Sector 15 and a relative of the injured family said that the injured were returning from a wedding function in Patiala when the accident happened here. Dharamvir Narang,who runs a hardware shop in Sector 15,reportedly slept while driving and the car rammed into the round about.

The doctors said that the injured are stable but not in a position to give any statements. Dharamvir’s son Sanjay and Sanjay’s wife Monica,their housemaid and their three kids were traveling in the car which met with the accident.

Harmohan Dhawan demands equipment for hygiene of sanitation workers

Senior BJP leader Harmohan Dhawan along with members of the sweepers’ union met the Home Secretary and Municipal Commissioner and demanded that the sanitation workers be provided with equipment like gloves,shoes,glasses and masks among other things.

Dhawan claimed that a number of deaths of sanitation workers are being reported due to a lack of these facilities.

Dhawan further demanded that the officers in the civic body,who have been creating problems for the sanitation workers should be removed.
