Cagers of GNPS-36,SD-32 continue their dominance

In their second match,GNPS-36 easily defeated the formidable Carmel Convent School team 86-23.

The cagers of Guru Nanak Public School,Sector 36,justified their billing as one of the favourites to win the title by bulldozing Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School,Sector 20,and Carmel Convent School,Sector 9,in the girls section on Wednesday during the ongoing inter-school basketball tournament for U-19 at Sports Complex,Sector 46,Chandigarh. In their first match in the league stage,the cagers of GNPS-36 scored points at will and bamboozled GGMSSS,Sector 20,97-20 to record a comprehensive victory.

Jasmine (34) and Akshita (20) combined well to steer GNPS-36 to victory. In their second match,GNPS-36 easily defeated the formidable Carmel Convent School team 86-23. Playing like a well-oiled unit,the GNPS-36 eves drubbed their opponents to surge ahead in the tournament.

Akshita played well in this match also,top scoring with 30 points. In their second match,GGMSSS,Sector 20,carved out an impressive win over Gurukul World School,Mohali. Rajni scored 30 points for the winning team. Gurukul World School,Mohali,again had to bite the dust when they suffered a 32-8 thrashing at the hands of Carmel Convent School.

In other matches,I.S. Dev Samaj School,Sector 21,overpowered Sacred Heart,Sector 26, 41-24. Bindu (14) and Namanpreet (10) were the chief architects of Dev Samaj triumph. St Anne’s School,Sector 32,outclassed Manav Mangal,Mohali,44-16 to move ahead.

In the boys section,PML S.D. Public School,Sector 32,crossed the 100-point mark and thrashed Moti Ram Arya School,Sector 27,Chandigarh,111-36.

Continuing with their hot form,the pair of duo of Harkirat (29) and Deepak (24) gelled well and helped the team register an easy win over Moti Ram Arya School.

In another lop-sided match,D.A.V. Senior Secondary School,Sector 8,drubbed Gurukul World,Mohali, 84-9.

Aman emerged as the star for DAV School,netting 41 points for the team. Sri Guru Harkrishan School,Sector 38,too,had it easy against Bhawan Vidyalaya,Sector 15,Panchkula. The Chandigarh school beat Bhawan Vidyalaya 48-15.
