(Express Photo by Praveen Khanna) Himachal Pradesh, which suffered significant flood damage last year, will receive assistance through “multilateral development assistance”, announced Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her Budget 2024 speech in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
“Himachal Pradesh suffered extensive losses due to floods last year. Our government will provide assistance to the state for reconstruction and rehabilitation through multilateral development assistance,” said Sitharaman, whose Budget 2024 speech also mentioned Bihar, Assam, Uttarakhand and Sikkim as states affected by floods and other natural disasters.
