Fulfilling the responsibilities the corporate sector owes to the society,Vijuy K Ronjan,Deputy General Manager,State Bank of India (SBI),Zonal Business Office,Punjab (Chandigarh) today donated and handed over water purifiers to representatives of 63 schools located in Tricity and Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion,Ronjan said,In order to build a healthy nation,State Bank of India felt it necessary to protect our children from water-borne diseases and to supplement the efforts of schools. Each branch of SBI has identified one such school without the above facility.
SBI had earlier donated ten fans per branch to various schools all over India in September 2010.
He added that each branch of SBI all over the country would donate such purifiers to one school in February.
Meera Modi,Principal,Dev Samaj College for Women,Sector 45,Chandigarh and T K Berry,Regional Manager,RBO-I,Chandigarh were also present on the occasion.
Modi appreciated the efforts of SBI for this cause.
