Briefly State: Fight drug abuse: Majithia to youth

Punjab Revenue,Public Relations and Rehabilitation Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said that the youth in the state must take the lead in fighting drug addiction.

Amritsar: Punjab Revenue,Public Relations and Rehabilitation Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said that the youth in the state must take the lead in fighting drug addiction. Flagging off a Chetna March at Tahli Sahib to spread awareness about the menace,Majithia said more similar initiatives were the need of the hour.

Sikh conference to discuss France case

AMRITSAR: NGO United Sikhs in its fourth Annual Global Sikh Civil Rights Conference to be held on April 24 in New York will focus on “landmark decision of the United Nations Human Rights Court in the turban case of 76-year-old French resident Ranjit Singh”. In 2002,Ranjit Singh refused to remove his turban after he was asked to do so by the French government as he was to be photographed for his identity card.

British peer calls
on Punjab Speaker

CHANDIGARH: A three-member delegation led by the Labour Peer in the British House of Lords Tarsem Kang called on Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal at his office on Monday. Kang said he was impressed with the development of the state and underlined the need for more bilateral relations between India and U K.
