CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government amended the constitution of the Board of Governors of Punjab State E-Governance Society (PSEGS). The minister in-charge,Department of Governance Reforms,as chairperson of the Board of Governors,secretary as vice chairperson and director governance reforms as member secretary with immediate effect.
Manyata Dutt presents energy saving solution
CHANDIGARH: Mzaya Private Limited an energy saving solution firm presented a powermatics solution for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday. The firm claimed that the solution could help corporation save up to Rs 800 crore per year.
Almost 1-lakh drawing pensions illegally
CHANDIGARH: In a status report of ineligible pensioners filed on Thursday in the Punjab and Haryana High Court,it was revealed that out of 13,27,555 people who were drawing old age pension in Haryana a staggering 18,420 people were drawing it illegally. In addition 41,198 pensioners had not come forward for verification. In Punjab out of a total of 10,06,149 pensioners,51,620 are ineligible pensioners while 19,806 have not come forward for verification. The high court has directed Punjab and Haryana to file a complete status reports with regard to the absentees of other districts within two months.
