SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the state DGP to constitute a special team for tracing accused in cases of sexual assault on minor children in the state. Disposing of a petition filed by the mother of a minor girl from Jhandutta in Bilaspur district,a division bench comprising Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary asked the police to take prompt action to book the accused. The court also observed that had it not intervened in the case,the investigating officer,would have submitted the untraced report,as it appears from the progress of the investigation conducted by him.

JALANDHAR: The state government has decided to increase collector rates commonly known as the DC rates by a minimum of 15 to 20 per cent against the existing price from April 1. With this,the rates are likely to go up by 60 to 70 per cent,depending on the increase in the rates of land in an area.
Three smugglers shot dead
JALANDHAR: Two Pakistanis and one Indian were among the three smugglers killed by the BSF at the border late on Wednesday night,the force said. Around 10 packets of heroin were seized from the trio,they added. The value of the seized narcotics is around Rs 50 crore in international market,the BSF said.
