Dhumal gives nod to release Rs 18 cr for HPU
Shimla: A deputation of newly constituted Non Teachers Employees Association of Himachal Pradesh University led by Devi Ram Verma met Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal last evening and demanded additional financial assistance for the university. Dhumal accepted the demand and directed the concerned authorities to release a sum of Rs 18 crore.
4 shortlisted to head human rights body
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has shortlisted the names of four retired chief justices for the post of chairman for its Human Rights Commission. Chief Justices (retd) Mukul Mudgal,Vijender Jain,Jagdish Bhalla and Bhiwani Singh are being considered for the seat. The state informed this to the Punjab and Haryana High Court during the hearing of a PIL demanding setting up of a Human Rights Commission in the state.

Punjab to act against sub-standard institutes
Chandigarh: Punjab has decided to initiate action against private educational institutes charging heavy fee from the students without providing them quality education as promised at the time of admission.
