Dal Khalsa slams Punjab CM

Jalandhar: The Dal Khalsa on Sunday demanded an apology from Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for giving a clean chit to former DGP Mohammad Izhar Alam,who was responsible for the killing several innocent Sikh youth in fake encounters. Dal Khalsa chief H S Dhami said that in case the Badal-led SAD fielded Alam as their candidate (as being projected from Malerkotla),their group will oppose it tooth and nail.

Action against docs advertising in media

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has decided to tighten the noose on registered medical practitioners of Homoeopathy,Ayurveda and Allopathic issuing advertisements and promising assured treatment of various ailments,including sexual ailments. Medical Education and Research Minister Arunesh Shakir on Sunday issued directions to initiate action against all doctors who are advertising through the media. .

Football academy in Sirsa district

Chandigarh: The Centre plans to set up a football academy at Daryapur village in Sirsa,MP and AICC national secretary Ashok Tanwar said this while addressing a gathering after declaring open the CBSE North Zone-cum-Cluster Football Championship at Maharaja Agrasen Public School,Fatehabad.

Advocate Lall wins Patron’s Golf Cup

Shimla: Arjun Lall,a Himachal Pradesh High Court advocate was declared the overall winner and Arun Sirkeck,the first runner-up,in the Chief Patrons’ Golf cup — a two-day tournament that ended on Sunday at the Naldehra Gold Club. Nearly 70 golfers participated in the event,which was jointly organised by Naldehra Golf Club and Himachal Pradesh Golf Association.
