Amritsar:All seven occupants of a car were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head on with a truck coming from opposite direction near Jhanda Lubana village under Bhaini Mian Khan police station in Gurdaspur on Sunday. The deceased,Simarjeet Singh,Rajan,Sunil,Baljit,Jagmeet Singh,Gursharan and Gurdeep Singh,were travelling in Scorpio and were returning from a marriage function in Bhaini Mian Khan and were on their way to Bhooshan village. The deceased were in the age group of 14 to 24 years. “While six of them died on the spot,the seventh succumbed to injuries on way to hospital,” a police official said,adding that the driver of the truck was absconding.

Sihag elected youth Cong chief

Chandigarh:Sirsa resident Amit Sihag was elected the president of the Haryana Youth Congress,after the results of the elections were declared on Sunday. Sihag defeated his nearest rival by 4,634 votes. He is the son of Dr K V Singh,who is the former OSD to Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. As many as 32,875 votes were cast for 41 candidates,of which Sihag got 8,876 votes.

HNA coordinator said to empower people and restore biodiversity,HNA would raise and organise the community under the slogan of ‘Livelihood through Conservation’ against the false policies of government.
