Mediapersons condole demise of 2 journalists
Shimla: Himachal Journalist Forum and Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Tuesday expressed grief over the demise of veteran journalist Rattan Singh Himesh,87, and T D S Alok,57,a former journalist and head of department of journalism and mass communication at Himachal Pradesh University. In statement a here Kanwar Yogendra,president of the forum said that Himesh was a pioneer in the media sector from the the hill state and was well known for his humorous and entertaining columns in various newspapers. He had also written scripts for various folk plays. Alok,who started his career in the information and public relations department and later shifted to teaching,was ailing for some months. Vice-Chancellor ADN Bajpai also condoled the bereaved families.
Nathpa Jhakri runs at 103 pc of capacity
SHIMLA: Power generation at the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power project in Himachal Pradesh has established a new bench mark at 4,258 million units surpassing the fixed targets by 504 MU during the period April 1 to August,14 with Plant Availability Factor (PAF) of 103 per cent.

Giving this information Chairman and Managing Director,SJVN,RP Singh said it was perhaps for the first time that the generation at any hydro-power project has exceeded beyond its capacity.
Absconding govt clerk held
Chandigarh: A government clerk,who was absconding after allegedly syphoning off over 30 lakhs from government exchequer,was arrested at Delhi airport,police said here on Tuesday.
