The joint rescue operation by the army and the district administration was called off Friday afteroon after one more body was retrieved on Friday. With the discovery of the body,all of the youths have been traced in the operations that started early afternoon on Wednesday. According to police officials it was during the search that they found the dead body of Pradeep Kumar lying in the bushes in Sector 28 following which it was shifted to the Sector 6 general hospital for identification.
Police and district administration officials said that the combing operation started early in the morning and continued till around 3 pm when the last body was traced out by the team of officials.
After the body of the youth who lives in Sector 20 was traced,the family members were informed,and they came to the Sector 6 hospital where the youth was identified.
Deputy Commissioner,Panchkula,S S Phulia,said that besides the officials of the Fire and Emergency Service they had also pressed into service the officials from the Panchkula Municipal Corporation (PMC).
During the searches,we found the youths body in the Sector 28 area following which we called off the rescue operation, said Phulia. He added that the operations continued till late afternoon.
Family members of Pradeep said that his father had died while he was young and his mother was living in Hissar.
The boy,who was doing a diploma from the Ambala Polytechnic College,was studying in the second year and was living in the housing society in Sector 20 with his uncle. He had left early in the morning along with his friends to play with them,and was washed away at Burj Kotian. A police official who was part of the rescue operation said that the body of the youth was found around 4 kilometers away from Burj Kotian.
Police officials from the Pinjore police station shifted the body to the Sector 6 hospital.
According to fresh details that emerged in the drowning incident on Friday,police said that the youth had gone to bathe in Ghaggar river and due to heavy rains,the water level in the river had risen up and the six youths were washed away.
Late Thursday night the search party of the district administration and army had also found the body of one more youth,apart from three dead bodies that were recovered till late evening on Thursday.
On Wednesday itself in the afternoon the rescue team had managed to fish out the body of Shubam Bhalla,who had told his family that he was visiting his college in Ambala,but had gone to party with his friends at Burj Kotian.
