Governor of Punjab and Administrator of U.T. Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated the Bhavan Vidyalaya New Chandigarh campus on Saturday. The event commenced with the unveiling of the school’s foundation stone by the Governor, marking the beginning of the school’s journey.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by UT Adviser Dharam Pal, Special Secretary, School Education and Director General, School Education, Punjab, Vinay Bublani, Mohali DC Aashika Jain, DC, Mohali, and Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra, R. K. Saboo among others.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by the Sarva Dharma prayer, resonating the secular spirit that Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan stands for. Vineeta Arora, the Director (Education)-cum-Senior Principal, extended a formal welcome to the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests, and threw light on the school’s vision and mission.
The Honorary Secretary, Madhukar Malhotra addressed the gathering and walked them through the journey of the school campus. R.K. Saboo, delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the school’s dedication to providing quality education and molding young minds for the future.
The Governor, who is also the Vice President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, addressed the gathering and congratulated the school management for providing quality education to its students. He emphasized the role of teachers in nation-building and urged the students to practice simple living and high thinking, based on Gandhian ideals.
Inderpreet Kaur, the Principal of Bhavan Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh, expressed her gratitude to the Governor, Members of the Kendra Committee, special invitees, guests, and dignitaries for making the occasion momentous with their gracious presence. The event concluded with the National Anthem. The guests and dignitaries were then taken for a school visit where they appreciated the school’s cutting-edge infrastructure and facilities.
